The Yellowstone Supervolcano is one of the most active geothermal areas on earth with more hot springs than anywhere else on the planet. This bathing area is only open from late summer to early spring, so it's a great plan to do in Yellowstone in the winter. This river is close to Mammoth, and the water is a higher temperature, as hot springs flow over the Gardener River there.
